If Kickstarter is new to you, here’s the simplest explanation:

It’s a preorder-style crowdfunding platform where readers can support a book before it releases –often with special editions, bonuses, and stretch-goals.

It’s a great way for indie authors to create excitement around their books and to cover some of their publishing costs.
